The upright row works the shoulders and traps by pulling a bar up along the body.
Standing, hold the bar in front of your thighs with hands roughly shoulder-width apart, arms extended.
Pull the bar up along your body by lifting your elbows out to the sides up to chest height, then lower slowly.
Stop when your elbows reach shoulder height. A wider grip is easier on the shoulders.
