The skater squat is a single-leg squat where the free leg goes back behind you.
Standing on one leg, bend your other knee to keep your foot behind you, arms in front for balance.
Lower yourself on the supporting leg until the back knee grazes the floor or a cushion, leaning your torso forward, then push back up.
The supporting knee remains aligned with the foot. A cushion under the back leg limits the descent at first.
