The single-leg box squat works one leg at a time by sitting down on a support.
Standing in front of a bench or a box, supporting yourself on one leg, the other slightly lifted in front of you, arms in front for balance.
Lower yourself with control until your glutes touch the box, then push back up on the same leg without sitting down completely.
A higher box makes the exercise easier. Keep your knee aligned with your foot.
