The overhead press consists of pushing a barbell overhead from a standing position: it is the basic shoulder exercise.
Standing, feet hip-width apart, barbell resting on the upper chest, hands slightly wider than shoulder-width.
Press the barbell vertically overhead while moving your head back slightly to let it pass, then lower it back to the chest.
Tense your glutes and abs: your lower back must not arch.
