The front squat is performed with the barbell resting in front of the shoulders: it loads the thighs more and requires an upright torso.
Rest the barbell on the front of your shoulders, against your neck, elbows high and forward, feet shoulder-width apart.
Descend by bending knees and hips, torso upright, until thighs are at least parallel to the floor, then rise.
Keep your elbows high throughout: if they drop, the bar slips forward.
