The close-grip bench press shifts the work of the bench press toward the triceps.
Lying on the bench, grip the bar with your hands shoulder-width apart, feet flat on the floor, and shoulder blades pinched together.
Lower the bar toward the lower chest while keeping your elbows close to your body, then push until your arms are straight.
A grip that is too narrow strains the wrists: shoulder width is enough.
