The assisted single-leg squat prepares you for the pistol squat by using support for balance.
Standing on one leg, hold a stable support in front of you (bar, post, strap) and extend the other leg forward.
Lower yourself as far as possible by bending the supporting leg, then come back up by pushing through the heel. Use your arms as little as possible.
Keep your knee in line with your foot and your heel on the floor.
